Born from a single pearl, a thousand intentions.
Every piece I make is a quiet letter — to the woman who wears it, and to the world I want to leave behind.
I didn't set out to start a brand. I set out to make something true.
My name is Yang Mengqi, and I'm the founder and creative director of Lost Poem. I was born with a sensitivity to beautiful things — the kind that makes you pause in front of a window display, or turn a piece of jewelry over in your palm just to feel the weight of it.
When I moved to Uppsala to study entrepreneurship, I carried that sensitivity with me. Sweden taught me something I hadn't expected: that restraint can be its own form of beauty. That simplicity, when it comes from intention, is never plain. The Swedish landscape — its pale winters, its quiet forests — became the aesthetic I wanted our jewelry to speak: natural, lasting, never loud.
In 2023, Lost Poem was born. What started as my own sketches grew into a small studio, where a handful of designers now work alongside me to bring that same sensibility to life, piece by piece.

Pearls chose me as much as I chose them.
I've always been drawn to pearls — not the stiff, uniform strands of another era, but the quiet individuality of a single natural pearl, with its own colour, its own surface, its own history. Each one is the result of time and irritation transformed into something unexpectedly beautiful. To me, that's a story worth wearing.
At Lost Poem, every piece is made using natural freshwater pearls, sourced with attention to quality and provenance. We work in small batches — sometimes only ten or twenty pieces of a single design — because I believe the person who wears it deserves something that wasn't made for everyone.
One vision, a small studio of hands.
Lost Poem is led by my creative direction, but it isn't the work of one pair of hands. Behind every collection is a small studio of designers and artisans who share the same belief: that jewelry should be quiet, intentional, and made to last. I set the direction — the mood, the materials, the restraint that defines Lost Poem — and our studio brings each idea into its final form.
It's a way of working I'm proud of: close enough that every piece still carries the sensibility I started with, small enough that nothing leaves our studio without care.
Making beautifully means making responsibly.
I've never been able to separate beauty from ethics. For me, a piece of jewelry that harms the environment or the people who made it isn't truly beautiful, no matter how it looks. That's a belief I built Lost Poem on from the very first day.
We use sterling silver and gold-plated metals chosen for their durability and low environmental footprint. Our natural freshwater pearls come from farms that work with the rhythm of nature rather than against it. We design for longevity — not for trends that will feel dated in six months — because the most sustainable piece of jewelry is one you keep wearing for years.
We ship in packaging that can be reused, recycled, or composted. We don't overproduce. And we're always learning, always looking for ways to do this better.
